INTERIM STATEMENT BY THE ROYAL COMMISSION ON ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION ON THE ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON PESTICIDES’S RESPONSE TO THE SPECIAL REPORT “CROP SPRAYING AND THE HEALTH OF RESIDENTS AND BYSTANDERS”

The Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution[1] (RCEP) has made an interim statement regarding the publication of the Advisory Committee on Pesticides (ACP) response to the special report on Crop Spraying and the Health of Residents and Bystanders. The RCEP is pleased that the ACP agrees with a substantial number of the recommendations made in the report. The ACP’s response is the result of several months of analysis and the RCEP will now study it carefully and make a full response in due course.

NOTES TO EDITORS

[1] The Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution is an independent body, appointed by the Queen and funded by the government, which publishes in-depth reports on what it identifies as the crucial environmental issues facing the UK and the world. The Royal Commission’s full reports are presented to Parliament. Special reports are carried out over a much shorter timescale than full reports.
