Evidence from the National Trust
to the Environmental Planning Study

From: Rachel Yorke, Transport & Planning Policy Officer and Rob Jarman, Environmental Practices Adviser, The National Trust, 36 Queen Anne's Gate, London   SW1H 9AS

21 June 2000

As just outlined by phone, these are the points Rob Jarman and myself wish to record;

- There is very little new we can add to our response last autumn to the first consultation round, either in terms of views or examples
- We support the minuted recommendations from the seminar following last autumn's consultation and see these as providing a good lead
- The NT's desire is to see the Planning System become more comprehensive in terms of its ability to control and regulate environmental management.
- We would like to be called to give evidence at any future seminar where we will be able to update on and discuss additional good practice examples of 'environmental planning' in the Trust's work.
