on the scoping of the Chemicals Study
Thank you for your letter of 19 November advising me of the Commission's new investigation into the long-term effects of chemicals in the environment. This is an extremely far-reaching issue, covering many topics and concerns. Your letter asked for "views and information that will help scope the study". To this end I thought a list of topics, stakeholders, issues, regulations etc. might be helpful and I have drawn up the attached "personal brainstorm" output in the hope that it might be of some use in your preliminary exercise. Please do feel free to get back to me with any questions or queries on this (and especially if I have used any unfamiliar acronyms)
